We’re looking for a Community Director to oversee our San Francisco and Oakland operations. This role is focused on the day-to-day management of Starcity’s 230 units spread over nine lively communities, with two more large communities scheduled to open soon. As a leader on the Community team, this role will ensure that we are providing exceptional member experiences and a hassle-free home life. You will oversee all operations within the communities, ranging from managing a team of amazing on-site staff, maintaining the standards and expectations set forth for our resident experience, preventative facility maintenance, and service fulfillment. The position is responsible for ensuring that the buildings maintain high occupancy, a solid Net Promoter Score, and all processes run smoothly.

  • Oversee operations of 230 suites across 9 communities in San Francisco and Downtown Oakland (more to come!)
  • Capitalize on opportunities to exceed member expectations for residential hospitality through empathetic listening
  • Work with members to resolve requests and issues over ticketing systems, email, and in-person conversations
  • Follow-up with members about the status of work orders
  • Inspect the buildings daily to ensure the highest quality standards
  • Keep our members informed of all the happenings within our communities
  • Partner with the Experience team to ensure member events and housemate conflicts
  • Advocate for the community by enforcing community guidelines and house rules
  • Implement feedback from members and the team to improve workflows
  • Review market trends and propose competitive leasing strategies
  • Collaborate with the Asset Management and Leadership teams team to ensure revenue and expense targets are consistently achieved and recalibrated
  • Be the face of our company to our local building owners
  • Support the success of the local leasing, facilities, and housekeeping teams through mentorship
  • Ensure training programs and safety protocols are strictly followed
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel between communities
  • You’re a driven and motivating leader with at least 3 years experience in short or long-term residential hospitality
  • You are kind, optimistic, curious, empathetic, self-aware, and most importantly, have integrity
  • Have a passion for hospitality and customer service
  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Must posses high organizational and time-management skills
  • Technologically proficient with employee time management tracking systems, Google Docs, spreadsheets, and project management software
  • Real estate licensees preferred but not required
